Half Marathon Update
I have decided that I will not be doing the Gold Coast Half Marathon and instead will aim for the Melbourne Half Marathon in October. I was going to do the shorter event at Gold Coast but I’ve decided to fly down to Melbourne for a trip instead. Also the cost of a hotel, flights out of Gold Coast kind of spooked me and I just don’t like the idea of me having to get on a plane right after a 21.1km run. LOL. Small leg room and tight muscles just don’t mix.
I decided to take on a smaller task and a longer time frame to accomplish my goals because I got spooked. I didn’t think I could get it done in the time allotted for the race and would’ve felt terrible for even trying. It has been an uphill mental battle to get myself ready for the race. It isn’t because I can’t physically do it but it has just put a negative spin on motivating myself to do it. It instills fear instead of determination. Basically I am thinking what a crazy person I am to attempt such a feat. It is ok because I know the Gold Coast Half Marathon won’t go anywhere, yet. LOL and I am more comfortable preparing for the Melbourne Half Marathon.
I did the Mother’s Day Classic with the people from the running group and Zeph. I finished it in 58mins. Not too bad considering there must have been 10,000 people running. It was PACKED! I almost knocked a lady over because she refused to move after I said, EXCUSE ME! but clearly that wasn’t enough for her to let me pass. Got trapped under the start line could barely move and then got stuck under the William Jolly and got stuck again at one of the hills around West End. Wasn’t happy when some idiot 4wd decided he wanted to drive through the race. He was clearly not going to get anywhere because the 8km walk had started…. IDIOT!
Talking about battles… I have been fighting many battles (not just mental) and one has been the battle of the rashes. Now I have been breaking out in a bad case of rashes due to the sudden change in weather. It is now cold and very dry and I had a pretty bad case of rashes and they kinda looked like hives in the end… but after some intense moisturising sessions with Nivea, I decided to give Palmers Cocoa Butter a try and perfection. It has made an even better recovery on my rashes. I am using the one of sensitive skin and am now considering instead of getting some expensive Biotherm winter option, I might see if Priceline stocks the face moisturiser option.
I love winter… although it is still autumn but the weather is nice and cool. I can finally start digging out some clothes I haven’t worn for a while and might start going through the summer collection and decide what is too worn and needs to go.
Anyway that is it for me… thanks Lianne for encouraging the idea of London/Europe again in my mind. I seriously cannot make up my mind on where I want to go but clearly now isn’t the time. Not enough IT jobs about!!
