Bridge to Brisbane Update
Well it has been a while since I updated this blog. It is still taking me time to come up with a new layout. I’m stuck and at the same time have not found the time to actually sit down and do something about it.
I completed the Bridge to Brisbane on the 7th of September. It was a 10km run which felt like 12km and there were 35,000 people. It was a nightmare to run. It wasn’t fun. I ended up being a grumpy runner having to bypass walkers along the way and running more than what I wanted from all the weaving I had to do. Anyway, I completed it in 1hr 14mins. That has to be my average running time for that distance. I do have to say, it was a tough run. The last 2ks were the hardest as we hit the inner city bypass. Running down and then “oh no” having to climb up it. That was excruitating. Anyway, as I approached the 200m mark, I speed up but then felt pangs of tiredness and had to slow down a bit before speeding up again at the finish. I was disappointed but hey, I will do it again next year. Remember, port-a-loos are gross… don’t have too loose clothing while attempting to pee. Hahaha… It was a hot day and I did feel it more than I wanted to. Point to remember – wear cap next time while running.
Anyway, it was a great experience and I am glad I did it. One item off my list of things to do in 2008. I can’t remember what the others were but I know this was on the top of my fitness list.
I get to go to Melbourne again this October for Singapore Day. I am looking forward to going to that and catching up with my brother and his girlfriend. Only 2 weeks to go!!
Nothing else much has been going on these days (Great rugby news as the All Blacks retained the Bledisloe Cup and Tri-Nations) as I am back in the office and working hard. Alright, I better end it here as I am missing Kenny’s World. Hopefully some changes soon.
Fantastic article
New Zealand may have done a whole lot more than win a Tri-Nations/Bledisloe Cup match on Saturday night. They just might have shown the whole Northern Hemisphere that the new ELVs are not the devil personified, as everyone north of the Equator seems to think. Continue on…
