Welcome 2011
A quick update to wish everyone a happy new year. I hope everyone has a wonderful 2011 and every success. Wash away the old, put on the new.
Still here, just busy
Wow! It has been a few weeks since I’ve posted on the site. I apologise for that as I have been super duper busy with work and everything else in between. The Christmas season is well and truly upon us but for some reason, still not quite in the Christmas mood.
Arrived in Melbourne tonight for some training for work and after that for some R&R with the family. Looking forward to that as well as getting some work done in between. It’s going to get a bit dicey…
Well I might blog again on the weekend with some shopping finds or good eats here in Melbourne… My favourite city in Australia. Maybe with some luck I’ll bump into Oprah. Hehe…
Update
Ok, so I attempted to try out the woothemes tumblog plugin and run this site like a tumblr but this theme I found is way too cool for that so I’ve decided not to use it. Anyway, pardon me if the images get cut off on some of the older posts. This layout is a bit narrower and so not all the images will display nicely. I have to find a way to fix this so whenever I do theme upgrades, I don’t have to worry about the images and videos not fitting.
Success!
I have finally fixed up my blog and have put a new theme in place. Now I am not sure what entirely happened with it but it is now fixed and hopefully I will no longer have anymore dramas. Yay!
What gives?
I’ve been mucking about with WordPress at the moment to get the latest version and to fix my dashboard page but alas, it did not work. The update worked fine but my dashboard page looks like a pile of mess. Now it all does not make any sense since all the other pages seem to load fine. Sobs. I think there might be some gremlins in my installation. Oh well. At least everything else is still working.
Anyway, I have been trying out the new WordPress Theme and shall use this for a while till I start redesigning this page. I have decided I should do something more constructive with this blog instead of spending $40 dollars a year on this sitting here showing nothing. As you can see, I didn’t finish doing the 31 photos in 31 days. Erm, there is no excuse for that but I think life just caught up with me and I abandoned the project.
Lots has happened from my last post till now and I will not bore you with the details. I am now back home and shall hopefully be able to have some weekly posts about things I love and things I have been up to. The next few months are going to be jammed packed with some really fun events which I shall blog about once they happen. Now I shall leave and hope you enjoy what is left of this weekend.
It's almost the end of the year…
Holy cow, 2009 is about to end! I can’t believe it. I’m out of town at the moment and will be celebrating new years in a different city for a change! Wooo… Visiting family is tiring and I think it doesn’t help that the rest of the country is on holiday too! Been planning my next whirlwind trip and basically have figured out only some of the things we’re going to do. I guess we’ll do most of the tourist things.
So a year to reflect on and really, I don’t have much to say. It has been a busy year for me with transitions at work and trying to accomplish my goals outside of that. Clearly a lifestyle change has happened there. Said goodbye to some friends who departed the fair golden shores to head back to their old home countries, thank god for Facebook!
I have to say I have made even more lovely friends this year and re-connected with old ones too! (Thank Facebook again for that)
Proud to say I completed 4 run events all within reasonable times and all PBs! Yay! Next years list of goals will probably mirror them and will all be to get a better personal time. Work wise I hope things all go well down the path I have chosen and I get to the level that I want (although that will never be enough). Anyway, I hope next year will not be as labourous as it was this year – it has been a real test of character this year with a lot of stress and new challenges being undertaken – glad I made it through semi-unscathed!
So list time it is:
- Finish Gold Coast Half Marathon with a better time than 2009
- Finish Mother’s Day classic with a better time than 2009
- Finish Brisbane Half Marathon
- Get closer to the goal of a size 8!! (it’s been a goal for almost 2 years now!)
- Be more financially secure
- Hope my plants survive till 2011!
Till I blog again, happy new year!
Ta-da!
So here it is. Still not quite finished but better than the first edition that came out before. I’ve just got to work on the placement of the picture for the flickr photo and I should be quite pleased with the site. It is amazing how our own personal projects always get stuck in the background never to resurface. Well I’m glad I have something for the new year. Hopefully when I’m on my break, I can post some updates and snap shots of the places I’m going to! Looking forward to it.
I guess it is time for me to put up some pictures of the Sydney half marathon I completed back in September. Finally got my hands on the photos. Official Timing: 2hrs 51 49mins
I have to say it was one of the hardest runs I’ve ever had to do. I did have my doubts as I was running. Highlight of the run that kept me going was having a police car slowly driving behind me. If I stopped, the car would’ve maybe run over me because I didn’t want to move out of the way. Haha. I haven’t been running now that most long running events are over this side of the world. I think it will be hard to get started but I am hopeful I will make it to the running groups last run for the year.
Anyway, that is all for now. I should be doing up a year-end round up post before the close of 2009. How quick the year has past. All I feel I am is just a little bit older.
